Sunscreen (or sunblock) can protect your skin from damages and aging causes by ultraviolet radiation such as UVA and UVB, which can also be found indoors from lightings and lamps, computer monitor, television screen etc.
The protective cream immediately forms on the skin surface, which uses the principle of refraction to block ultraviolet rays from damaging the skin.
The chemical molecules in the protective cream are absorbed by the skin like a sponge to prevent ultraviolet rays from penetrating skin cells.
Chemical sunscreen takes time to absorb into the skin, so it will take effect 30 minutes after application; physical sunscreen will work immediately after application.
Even when it’s cloudy, UVA and UVB stills penetrates the clouds and radiates in the atmosphere. Therefore, remember to protect your skin whenever you’re going out.
The key to protecting skin from sun is the practice of [reapplying], no matter what is the SPF or stars of sunscreen, its power will diminish as time passes. The high SPF is suitable for long-term exposure under the hot sun. As for indoor work and general daily outings, SPF 35 + 3 stars is the best. Remember to reapply sunscreen every 2-3 hours.
